As You Like It A Radical Retelling (EIF)
★★★★☆ Remarkable
As You Like It A Radical Retelling at the Church Hill in the International Festival is a wonderfully theatrical and challenging piece, dealing with hugely important issues in a way that demands attention.
Dune! The Musical
★★★★☆ Musically powerful
Dune! The Musical, by Dan Collins and PBH’s Free Fringe at the Voodoo Rooms throughout all three weeks, is a well crafted, high-octane production with an appeal beyond its obvious audience.
Unravel
★★★☆☆ Dense
Mon Espoir’s new play Unravel, playing theSpace @ Surgeons’ Hall for the final two weeks of the Fringe, is a work with philosophical density and formal surprises. Unfortunately, its perspectives on the subjects tackled are not offered to the audience with clarity.

George, Don’t Do That…The Joy of Joyce Grenfell
★★★☆☆ Rewarding
George, Don’t Do That…The Joy of Joyce Grenfell evokes a vanished social milieu with tunefulness and humour. The show, from Arkle at the Royal Scots Club each afternoon of the Fringe’s final week, is a compilation of the work of Joyce Grenfell (1910 – 1979) – the writer, actor and singer.
The Faustus Project
★★★★★ Insane
Half Trick Theatre’s remount of The Faustus Project, in the Belly Laugh room of Underbelly Cowgate for the full fringe, is an outrageous piece of theatre – utterly fresh yet surprisingly Elizabethan in sensibility.
