Adam Butler
Autobahn
★★★☆☆ Atmospheric
Autobahn by Neil LaBute, presented by Edinburgh Acting School in their downstairs studios at Summerhall, is an interesting series of playlets that never quite gets up to full speed.
Julius Caesar
★★☆☆☆ Mid-table:
A football-themed Julius Caesar at Augustine United Church pitches Shakespeare against the world of agents, bungs and FIFA, but neither can be said to come out the winner.
The Lift
✭✭✩✩✩ Not uplifting
Some clever staging and energetic performances are not enough to mask fundamental drawbacks in conception and script in Edinburgh University Theatre Company’s The Lift.
Review – Scooby Panto and the Night of the Nutcracker! In 2D!
✭✭✭✩✩ Brazenly hazy:
Gosh, golly and crypes, Santa Claus has been kidnapped and not only have his dastardly kidnappers killed Scrappy Doo, but they have cancelled Christmas too!
