Grant Stott
Allan Stewart’s Big Big Variety Show
✭✭✭✭✩ Big and clever:
It’s Allan Stewart’s Big Big Variety Show at the King’s this week. Or maybe it’s the Big Big BIG Variety Show. It’s hard to keep these things straight… But it’s fair to say it’s big.

Jack and the Beanstalk
★★★★☆ Raucous:
The celebrated trio of Allan Stewart, Grant Stott and Andy Gray are front and centre in this year’s King’s pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk – a production that is low on storyline but high on childlike fun and a headlong, effervescent energy.
Grant Stott’s Tales From Behind The Mic
✭✭✭✭✩ Barry:
Broad, cheeky and deceptively carefully crafted, Grant Stott’s solo show Tales From Behind the Mic is a great success.
Awfey Huge Variety Pics
Huge burst of energy for Festival Theatre:
Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre staged the Awfey Huge Fantastic Variety show on Wednesday 22 June, 2016, a production featuring over 200 children from the city’s state-funded special schools.
Canned Laughter
★★★★☆ Canny:
Pathos and superbly performed comedy combine in Canned Laughter at the King’s all week until Saturday.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
★★★★☆ Comic spectacle:
Professional pantomime is not the place to go for new theatrical techniques or stunning insights into the human condition.

Andy Gray has won a coveted Stage Award for Acting Excellence for his performance as William Donaldson in Willie and Sebastian at the Gilded Balloon.
Willie and Sebastian
✭✭✭✭✩ Immoral compass:
Foul-mouthed and funny, Willie and Sebastian is far removed from what might be expected of the established double act of Andy Gray and Grant Stott. Nevertheless it provides an entertaining hour, with Gray in particular close to his very best.
Allan Stewart’s Big Big Variety Show
✭✭✭✩✩ Not enough Variety:
There is much to enjoy in Allan Stewart’s Big Big Variety Show at the King’s this week, but overall this mixed bag will do little to bring the genre back to life.
