Dragon Tales & Dragon Babies
★★★★★ Storytelling & Sensory delight
Dragon Song Productions return to the relaxed setting of the LifeCare Centre with a pair of complimentary shows, Dragon Tales for under six year-olds and Dragon Babies, for babies under 12 months.
Cinderella: A Fairytale
★★★★☆ Magical
Cinderella: A Fairytale, this year’s Lyceum Christmas play, is a sparkling, visually wonderful and consistently entertaining piece of family entertainment.
Laurel & Hardy
★★★★☆ Skilfully hilarious
There is a deeply felt element to Laurel & Hardy at the Lyceum, that enhances the hilarity on display in note-perfect recreations of classic comedy.
PPP: The Signalman
★★★★★ Riveting
There is a touch of horror to The Signalman, in which playwright Peter Arnott views the Tay Bridge disaster from the post of signalman Thomas Barclay, on duty at the south end of the bridge on the evening of Sunday December 28, 1879.
The Last Witch
★★★★☆ Hard as rock:
There is a visceral compulsion to Pitlochry Festival Theatre and Firebrand’s The Last Witch at the Traverse. While apparently telling of a disappeared world, its evocations of fears, suspicions and power imbalances are worryingly contemporary.
The Match Box
★★★☆☆ Slow burn:
Matches are resolutely old-school and capable of being taken for granted, but are just as capable of flaring into life as they always were. Which is pretty much the case with Firebrand’s The Match Box, at the Traverse until Saturday.
