Edinburgh Panto up for awards
“King’s” panto recognised at the UK Pantomime Awards
Jack and the Beanstalk, last Christmas’s King’s Panto (at the Festival Theatre) has received four nominations in the The UK Pantomime Association’s annual awards, in which two Edinburgh brothers are also up for the Best Sisters award.
Jack and the Beanstalk
★★★★☆ In rude health
Jack and the Beanstalk, the last time the ‘King’s panto’ appears at the Festival Theatre before its long-awaited return to the actual King’s, is another hugely enjoyable run-out for the established team of Allan Stewart, Grant Stott and Jordan Young.
Grease
★★★★☆ Raucous
Grease is a raucous, riotous classic of 1970s American musical theatre, and this new co-production between Pitlochry Festival Theatre and Blackpool Grand Theatre is packed with heart, soul, and exceptional actor-musicianship.
Death of a Salesman
★★★☆☆ Modern Tragedy
Arthur Miller’s enduring tragedy Death of a Salesman leaves no question of the play’s outcome in its title, or in this new production from Trafalgar Theatre Productions and Raw Material touring to the Festival Theatre.
