Disney’s Frozen The Musical
★★★★★ Extraordinary
Forth Children’s Theatre is always one of the companies whose Fringe shows are a must-see. And, even if it is starting before the Fringe, Disney’s Frozen The Musical is definitely in that category. Visually impressive, technically impeccable and with some quite magnificent performances, this is genuinely wonderful.
Spamalot
★★★★☆ Joyous
The moment Josh Wood’s 17-strong band strikes up, it is obvious that Happy Sad Productions are not here to mess around. To play, certainly, but Spamalot at Portobello Town Hall is a show with polish, intent and purpose.
Sister Act
★★★★☆ Melodic
Sister Act, by Forth Children’s Theatre at Broughton High School, is a tuneful production with bags of energy, featuring some exceptionally promising performers.
The Wizard of Oz
★★★☆☆ Ambitious
There are some tremendous performances from the young cast in LYAMC’s The Wizard of Oz, at the Church Hill until Saturday. Much of the production is very impressive, with only some uneven staging letting it down.
