Sandy Jack
The Court 1
★★☆☆☆ Needs polish
Edinburgh Little Theatre’s The Court 1, at Braw Venues @ Grand Lodge for the whole Fringe, is an interactive legal drama in which the audience decides the verdict.
The Burnings
★★★☆☆ Dramatic
The Burnings presented by Edinburgh Little Theatre at Braw Venues @ Grand Lodge is an emotional and historical play, about the East Lothian witch trials held in North Berwick in the last decade of the 16th Centre.
Nightmares by Sandy Jack
★☆☆☆☆ Incoherent
Sandy Jack returns to the Fringe under the auspices of Lynch Lovers with new show Nightmares at theSpace on the Mile. Described as a “surreal/horror anthology” inspired by Jack’s own nightmares, David Lynch, and The Twilight Zone, it is frankly an incoherent mess.
Frighthouse Presents: The Wheel Of Misfortune
★★★☆☆ Comically disturbing
Part of the Laughing Horse Free Festival, The Wheel Of Misfortune is a horror-comedy which gives a bizarre account of various creepy tales, think Goosebumps tinged by The League of Gentlemen.
Corydon Ovium
★★★☆☆ Not baad:
Corydon Ovium, Nightmare Productions’ comedy horror anthology downstairs at the Newsroom, is a decidedly hit-and-miss affair that makes up in gleeful energy for what it lacks in polish.
