SIX The Musical
★★★★☆ Energetic
SIX The Musical at the Festival Theatre is a lively, noisy entertainment whose popularity shows no sign of abating. And while it continues to be performed with this much skill and spirit, quite right too.
Here You Come Again
★★★☆☆ Unexpected
If you think you know what the Leeds Playhouse’s touring production of Here You Come Again will be like, think again. This is no standard jukebox musical and – while it does not all come off – it is a heartening and surprisingly emotional affair.
Life of Pi
★★★★☆ Visually spectacular
Considerable theatrical magic can be found in the touring production of Life of Pi at the Festival Theatre. If the staging sometimes overwhelms the storytelling, it is still a production of real impact.
SIX The Musical
★★★★☆ Spitting rhymes
Six new queens have taken up royal residency in the cast of SIX, which drops into the Festival Theatre for an extended stay through to March 26 and returns to the Glasgow Theatre Royal in Midsummer.
Sasha Regan’s All Male The Mikado
★★★★☆ Entertaining:
Clever, witty and tuneful, Sasha Regan’s all male The Mikado, at the King’s to Saturday, ticks the necessary boxes for a successful night of G&S operetta.
